Community Door

If you're heading for the top, it's good to check out the landscape while you're still young.

Typically, boards and committees consist of older, experienced people with specialised knowledge related to their organisation or industry. What they often lack is an intimate knowledge of the generation following them. With Community Door, they can enjoy the insight of youth where it matters most - the board room.

The Community Door Program is an initiative of Lead On Australia (Bendigo & Adelaide Bank) designed to place students (usually as observers) on local boards and committees. The BSA, as a partner organisation in the program, helps identify La Trobe University students suitable for each role.

Students who take part in the program are exposed to principles of governance, strategic planning, risk management and financial management. They also get access to a mentor and an opportunity to expand their professional networks.
